Hasdal Solid Waste Transfer Center Opened

“ISTAC, which continues to work for 16 million Istanbulites with the slogan ”Transforms for Life’, adds a new one to the projects it has completed and inaugurated the Hasdal Solid Waste Transfer Center. The Hasdal Solid Waste Transfer Center project, which enables the transfer of approximately 19 thousand tons of household waste generated every day in Istanbul to the Waste Disposal Facility and Waste Incineration and Energy Generation Facility, was realized.

WILL SERVE 7 DISTRICTS

Hasdal Solid Waste Transfer Center, located on an area of approximately 40 thousand square meters, will serve more districts at the same time with 10 independent solid waste loading systems and a daily capacity of 2,500 tons of municipal solid waste. The wastes of 7 district municipalities in total, Beşiktaş, Beyoğlu, Eyüpsultan, Fatih, Sarıyer, Kağıthane and Şişli, will be collected at the Hasdal Center. With the commissioning of the Hasdal Transfer Center, waste vehicle traffic will be moved out of the city and the traffic load of the city will decrease.

FUEL SAVINGS, LESS EMISSIONS, LESS TRAFFIC

With the commissioning of the Hasdal Solid Waste Transfer Center, which is located close to the Waste Disposal and Waste Incineration and Energy Generation Facility, domestic waste will be transported by trucks with larger capacity instead of district municipal vehicles. As a result of the reduced number of trips made by both district municipality vehicles and transfer vehicles, less fuel consumption will be ensured and approximately 9 million liters of fuel will be saved annually. In addition, as a result of the reduced number of vehicles, Istanbul traffic will be relieved and carbon dioxide emissions and noise pollution will be prevented.

Continuing its new generation environmental investments without slowing down with the mission of leaving livable cities to future generations, ISTAÇ continues to provide modern waste management services to Istanbul and transform it for life with Hasdal Solid Waste Transfer Center.
