Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak emphasized that Turkey is a sports country and said, “We have a President who comes from within sports. We have a President who values sports, values young people and wants modern sports facilities to be built all over Turkey. We have built 41 stadiums at UEFA and FIFA standards so far. We continue to build.”.
Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak attended the opening ceremony of Yozgat Stadium, which was completed in Yozgat.
In his speech at the opening ceremony of Yozgat Stadium, Minister Bak said that they will inaugurate a beautiful work.
Emphasizing that they were lucky, Minister Bak said:
“We have a President who comes from within sports. We have a President who values sports, who values young people, who wants investments to be made and who has caused the construction of modern stadiums all over Turkey. We have built 41 stadiums so far. UEFA and FIFA standards and we continue to build them all over Turkey. Of course, the dimensions of these stadiums are made according to UEFA standards. Many indoor sports halls, Olympic swimming pools, semi-Olympic swimming pools, athletics tracks, there is a revolution of sports facilities all over Turkey. Since our arrival, we continue to build facilities everywhere. This is the instruction of our President. Because we have a President who knows sports very well, who really came from within sports, who used to play football, who used to be a manager.”
Minister Bak explained the construction process of the stadium and thanked those who contributed.
“The stadium in Ankara is also being completed”
Pointing out that Turkey is a sports country, Minister Bak said, “What are the results of the facilities all around Turkey? Turkey will organize the 2032 European Football Championship together with Italy. Investments are also continuing for this. A stadium is also being completed in Ankara. The 55 thousand-seat Ankara Stadium is the third in the world in terms of steel construction. God willing, we will open it in the middle of 2026, around June or July. Another work is emerging. Of course, our President is following these closely.’.
Minister Bak said that the construction of the Youth Center in Yerköy district is about to be completed.
Stating that the reason for building sports facilities in particular is to ensure that young people stay away from digital addiction, drugs and bad habits, Minister Bak continued his words as follows:
“I appeal to parents: bring your children to sports facilities, halls, wrestling, judo, taekwondo, karate. We have seen young athletes, please bring them to the facilities, let them do sports. Imagine comparing a child who plays sports with a child who uses drugs. One is loved and applauded by everyone, the other is cruel to his parents. He harms his environment. Therefore, the medicine, the solution, the preventive thing to get rid of this evil is sports.”
“God willing, our national team will go to the 2026 World Cup”
Asking them to follow the national team, Minister Bak said, “God willing, our national team will go to the 2026 World Cup by eliminating its rival after the Romania match on March 26 and then eliminating the winner of Slovakia-Kosovo. We will support them all together with enthusiasm. We will say ‘The greatest Turkey’, we will say ‘Turkey, the country of sports’. May our facility be auspicious.”.
Minister Bak played football for a short time at the stadium
After the Provincial Mufti prayed, the opening ribbon of the stadium was cut.
Minister Bak toured the stadium and played a short game of soccer with members of the protocol. The opening ceremony was attended by the provincial protocol and some national athletes.
Minister Bak watched the first half of the Yozgat Municipality Bozokspor - Sebat Gençlikspor match played in Nesine 3rd League 3rd Group at the stadium and then went to Yozgat Governor's Office. The visit was closed to the press.
